Powerlifters2017

Shark Powerlifting

The Shark Powerlifters competed at the Region 4 division 3 powerlifting championship on Thursday, March 9.  The Boys Placed first as a team for the 3rd year in a row. Competing at the meet were: Tyler Le placed 1st in the 123 pound weight class with a 875 pound composite…he is a state qualifier. Morgan Segovia placed 3rd in the 165 pound weight class with a 1160 pound composite. Dominic Garcia placed 1st in the 181 pound weight class with a 1350 pound composite…he is a state qualifier. Adam Nguyen placed 9th in the 198 pound weight class with a 1165 pound composite. Elijah Edwards placed 4th in the 198 pound weight class with a 1260 pound composite. Danny Rodriguez placed 2nd in the 198 pound weight class with a 1420 pound composite. Jackson Engel placed 8th in the 220 pound weight class with a 1145 pound composite. Cesar Jimenez placed 2nd in the 220 pound weight class with a 1260 pound composite. Jaedon Hinchliffe placed 8th in the 242 pound weight class with a 1195 pound composite. Thomas Garcia also qualified as an alternate but was unable to lift. As we went into deadlift the team was in second place behind Hitchcock…however the boys  hit their lifts and advanced their position to jump ahead for the win.  Wow, unbelievable said Coach Green. Palacios should be proud these boys worked hard and represented the school and community very well.
